August 2021 LF Alumni Spotlight: Caleb Hollingsworth

1. What are some of the things you appreciate most about Fayette County?

I appreciate the “shop local” mentality of Fayette County. In essence, the county residents make efforts to help their neighbors and their neighbors’ businesses before looking at a large corporation. Most of all, I appreciate the genuine southern hospitality shared between everyone here.

2. What was your motivation to attend Leadership Fayette?

Leaders from the county encouraged me to join and I wanted to learn more about the county I resided in so I could best see how to influence the county in a positive way and create the best possible atmosphere for my family for years to come.

3. What have you personally gotten out of your involvement in Leadership Fayette?

Lifelong relationships! I did come away with more knowledge of the county but, more importantly, I came away with very dear relationships.

4. How did attending Leadership Fayette influence you as a leader?

It empowered me. Even though I came in as a young business owner and a new member of the community, I felt as though I could make a difference from the beginning.

5. Would you encourage others to get involved with Leadership Fayette? Why?

Absolutely. This world is starving for good leaders. Fortunately, our county does have many great leaders currently but that torch has to be passed at some point and we need to make sure we keep the same caliper of leadership in our county. Also, attending Leadership Fayette is a great week to make connections that can benefit personally or on a business level.

6. What positive impact are you planning on having on Fayette County as a result of attending Leadership Fayette?

The areas that interest me include commerce, education, parks/recreation and the legislative system of our county. I want to be a voice for these areas when the opportunity presents itself and throughout my time in the county, I want to be a servant of the county by serving in any capacity needed whether that is through an elected position or volunteer position.

7. How did attending Leadership Fayette prepare you for your current and/or next career?

It provided me with a better acumen of our municipalities and how they operate. Through this, I can align my business with the vision of the county and be a partner in its growth.

8. What year did you graduate from Leadership Fayette?

I graduated from Leadership Fayette in 2018.
