July 2021 LF Alumni Spotlight: Hollie Holland





1. What are some of the things you appreciate most about Fayette County?

I appreciate the kindness of the people and the opportunity to have personal and professional relationships with elected leaders, business owners and citizens. It is a great place to raise a family and get involved with the community.


2. What was your motivation to attend Leadership Fayette?

I have lived in Fayette County for over 40 years. Honestly, I was curious how much I could learn about my community. Turns out, there is so much history to learn about and so many exciting things coming in the near future.


3. What have you personally gotten out of your involvement in Leadership Fayette?

I have become lifelong friends with my fellow classmates and Leadership Fayette board members. I enjoyed learning about the ways I can give back of my time and talents within my community.

4. How did attending Leadership Fayette influence you as a leader?

Attending Leadership Fayette has opened my eyes to the fact I can get involved in local non-profits, community events and serve on boards that will benefit the citizens of Fayette County and beyond.


5. Would you encourage others to get involved with Leadership Fayette? Why?

I would encourage to invest their time and take advantage of what Leadership Fayette and our wonderful county has to offer. It is a wonderful way to connect with local officials and learn the history of Fayette County and the direction our county is headed in the future.


6. What positive impact are you planning on having on Fayette County as a result of attending Leadership Fayette?

Since graduating from Leadership Fayette, I have served on the Leadership Fayette Board for two years and I am currently serving as Vice-President for the Carl Perkins Center and as a member of the UT Martin Somerville Center Advisory Board. I enjoy volunteering for other non-profits such as Fayette Cares.

7. How did attending Leadership Fayette prepare you for your current and/or next career?

Since attending LF, I have been able to make contacts with local and elected officials, peers within my profession and contacts from around West Tennessee. While our backgrounds are diverse, we have one common goal – to make Fayette County an even better place to work, worship and live.


8. What year did you graduate from Leadership Fayette?

I graduated from Leadership Fayette in 2019 and feel blessed to have had this opportunity.
