Where Do My Alumni Dues Go And What’s In It For Me?
That is a good question, one that should be asked of every organization asking for donations of any kind. You, as the donor, should be cognizant of the organization requesting funds and how that particular request does translate into anything of importance to you, the giver. It is important to know where your dollars are going.
Every dollar collected in alumni dues for Leadership Fayette goes directly to the development of the program. There are no administration costs. It is all operational. The program is strictly voluntary. The money received from alumni goes to support future participants and in return, supports the growth of business, education, and industry in Fayette County. It is a direct line forward. Our main expenses are the education sessions, including a Nashville trip which exposes our participants to the governmental structure and the opportunity to meet various department heads of State government. Recognizing the accomplishments of the participants at graduation is an important event and our second greatest expense.
There is a reason alumnus are invited to sessions with the current class, we are a different organization. If you have not witnessed a session in the past couple years, you will be amazed at the transformation of the program. Leadership Fayette is now a 501.3c organization under the law, we have a Board of Directors, accept electronic payments, have presence on Facebook and are frequently recognized in The Fayette Falcon.
